Welcome Hosts of the COD Holiday Warfare Event.
First off, I appreciate you guys coming to help host. If you haven't heard yet, we have 160 people signed up for this event! Wow! Obviously with an event this massive even if we can't get everyone in, we want to be sure that we provide the best service we possibly can. So, I'd like to go over firstly, how this will go.
On The Event Day
1.) Sign into Xbox LIVE a good 15-20 minutes prior to the start of the event (7pm EST). This will give you ample time to log into Call of Duty 4 and whatnot.
2.) From the CoD4 MP Menu select Xbox LIVE, and then PRIVATE MATCH
3.) First go to GAME SETUP. Make sure Join in Progress is Allowed
4.) Select whichever map/mode you want to do first. I recommend running Team Deathmatch first until people decide on what they want, or until its been played a few times.
5.) Then go into Game Rules and have some fun! In most cases the default settings will be fine (and thats probably the best way to START). AS THE HOST you can run whatever alternate settings you want. However, it always helps to bring it up with the other members first before you change the settings.
After each round it will go back to the lobby where you can make these changes.
Also, don't bother with making your own "rules" it probably won't work unless the game can enforce it itself. Just use what the game gives you and create something fun for everyone.
6.) Once your settings are all set, go to Invite Player and use the INVITE LIST (posted above) and invite people from YOUR SECTION of the Invite List. It helps if you have a USB Keyboard, you can plug that right into your 360 and type in the invite names if you don't want to friend request. However, if you DO want to request friends, look up their name. Add them as a friend, and then invite them to the match.
7.) Once you have a full party. Run down the members list and CROSS OFF any names that are in the match going in from your list. This way you won't re-invite them later. People can stay in the match as long as they want, but if someone leaves, send out another invite to someone who has NOT gotten in yet. Once that spot gets filled, cross of the name, etc. Repeat this after every round.
If for some reason you invite everyone from the list (doubtful) then you can start moving to other sections of the list.
In the event of you crashing, restart the private room, and invite anyone you remember who was in. If not that, then move on to more names from your section of the list.
RULES
Now from being the host, there are some important ground rules I want to cover.
1.) DONT BREAK ANY RULES YOURSELF. That might be shunned by Xbox LIVE or CharlieOscarDelta. Be respectful to the guests, etc. Remember your representing the CharlieOscarDelta community.
2.) Don't kick players because you don't LIKE them or because you want a friend to get in. Only kick if they are being very rude, or is clearly cheating/hacking/causing a disturbance in the fun for everyone. I expect everyone to use their good judgment on that.
3.) Stay in good contact with the players. Make everyone feel friendly, and don't be afraid to chat it up. See what modes people want to run, maps, etc. Remember, it's not ranked so it's all about having fun!
4.) When it's getting late and you are about to turn it in. PLEASE INFORM EVERYONE that you will soon be leaving (give them a 5-10min or 3 round notice in advance, and do it every intermission until then). Then state clearly again when you are leaving, inform that others can start their own room if they want, and then exit when you feel it is all set.
